History of Hunters Creek Village, Texas
Hunters Creek Village was first settled by German farmers, who built sawmills around the area to process lumber.
The city was first incorporated in December 1954 thanks to growing interest in the area following the Houston housing boom and the Katy Freeway completion. It was incorporated with a mayor-alderman government that established deed restrictions prohibiting businesses in most of the city.
The area’s current population is about 4400 people, and Forbes selected it as one of the top suburbs of Houston in 2008.
